Location. Setanta House Hotel, located in a renovated 18th century fieldstone school, is 15 kilometres from Dublin city and surrounded by attractions such as the Castletown House, Japanese Gardens, Staffan Steam Museum and the Millenium Maze as well as several shopping outlets. Dublin International Airport is 18 kilometres away.

Hotel Features. The reception area of the Setanta House has green tufted leather sofas and wingback chairs by the fireplace; complimentary coffee, tea and newspapers are available in the lobby where original stone arches have been restored to form a small sitting room. Plenty of options are offered for eating in the Cornstore Restaurant or Folly Bar, and room service is available 24 hours a day. Live music is performed one night a week.

Guestrooms. Setanta House Hotel has 65 guestrooms set over three floors, all of which have décor in shades of beige and brown and antique style furniture. All feature separate sitting areas with coffee/tea makers, desks, phones and wireless or dial up Internet connections, daily newspapers and DVD players. The bathrooms have period style fittings and include Victorian style bathtubs, separate showers and makeup mirrors.

Expert Tip. Castletown House, 1.5 kilometres from the Setanta House, the first Palladian mansion built in Ireland, was designed by the Florentine Alessandro Gallilei, a portrait of whom hangs in the vestibule of the mansion.
Getting there. Taxi services are available from the airport to the hotel. Alternatively, the Aircoach goes from Dublin Airport to Dublin city centre. The service runs 24 hours, every day. Tickets can be purchased from the bus driver and cost approximately €10(return) From Dublin city centre, take either the Commuter Bus or Bus Eireann stops at Celbridge directly in front of the hotel. Train services run from Heuston Station in Dublin city centre to the Hazel Hatch train station in Celbridge.

Driving directions. From the airport, take the N1 heading towards M50.

Take the M50 southbound to Lucan and continue straight passing Liffey Valley Shopping Centre.

Continue to the Celbridge/Leixlep exit, turn left and continue past the Westin Airport.

Go through the traffic light intersections until entering Celbridge, cross over the bridge and turn left, continue straight.

The hotel is further up the road on the left.
